In this weekly round up I decided to mix things up a bit. From now until Thanksgiving I will be featuring the links that I feel put me (and hopefully YOU) in the spirit of the upcoming holiday.
I started thinking about Thanksgiving the day after Halloween:) Unfortunately I still have my Halloween decorations on the mantel. I’m hoping by focusing on the upcoming holiday I can get motivated to get my hiney in gear and start doing all the prep that comes with it For me this includes make ahead and freeze dinners, desserts and breads, quick and easy snacks for the kiddos, decorations, etc.
So without further ado, here is the first fall round up from this week’s Teach Me Tuesday Linky Party!
Click on the title to take you to the post. From left to right, top to bottom…
1. HOW TO HAVE A GRACIOUS HOME WHEN ENTERTAINING GUESTS. If you’re going to have guests this holiday season this post has some awesome tips on what to do.
2. THREE BUDGET FRIENDLY FALL MANTELS. This post is one that will definitely get me inspired to take down the Halloween decorations from my mantel. Simple yet beautiful!
3. WHAT DOES THE MAYFLOWER HAVE TO DO WITH THANKSGIVING? As with most things, my kids usually come to me and asks questions about why we celebrate certain holidays. This post gives a little background as to how Thanksgiving came to be and also includes how the kiddos can make their very own Mayflower!
4. TREE BRANCH PAINTED PUMPKIN. This painted pumpkin is just gorgeous and would look awesome in my living room
5. FALL TABLE SETTING. If you need some inspiration for decorating your dinning room table this post is it!
6. SWEET POTATO NOODLES WITH ROASTED RED PEPPER CREAM SAUCE. Uhm, sweet potato noodles? Yum! Enough said
7. PIE CRUST TIPS. Although I make most things from scratch I’ve yet to be able to make a GOOD homemade pie crust. This post gives some awesome tips on how to do just that! Perfect for a homemade pumpkin, sweet potato or pecan pie on Thanksgiving!
8. PUMPKIN SCONES WITH PUMPKIN SPICE ICING. Speaking of pumpkin, this pumpkin scone recipe sounds amazing! It will be on my list of recipes to try.
9. ROASTING PUMPKIN SEED, SALTY AND SWEET. Speaking, again, of pumpkins I just had to include this recipe. Anytime I’ve ever roasted pumpkin seeds I’ve only seasoned them with salt. Go check out this post for some other great seasoning tips for them seeds.
Feeling inspired to do some decorating and cooking for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday? I certainly am. If you need some more inspiration hop over to this weeks link party because there is way more inspiration than what I have here!
