This recipe is going to be a short and sweet one.

Remember the other day when I posted the Homemade Croutons recipe? Well today I’m posting another simple recipe that uses leftover bread…Homemade Breadcrumbs!

For some reason my family has a phobia about eating the last 4-6 pieces of bread in a loaf. Why? I have no idea. I usually have a couple loaves on the counter at one time. By the time I get around to checking it before a grocery store run, they will have one loaf with the 4-6 pieces left in it and the other loaf half gone.

I don’t make a big deal out of it because I get to make my Homemade Croutons and this really easy homemade breadcrumbs recipe. As a matter of fact the only 3 things needed for this recipe are…

a food processor

and a freezer bag.

Freeze large batches and just pull out what you need when you need it

See? Easy peasy!

Homemade Breadcrumbs

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • leftover bread, any kind

Instructions

  1. Place leftover bread in a food processor.
  2. Pulse until it resembles crumbs.
  3. DO NOT over process.
  4. Use in any recipe that calls for breadcrumbs.
