This recipe is going to be a short and sweet one.
Remember the other day when I posted the Homemade Croutons recipe? Well today I’m posting another simple recipe that uses leftover bread…Homemade Breadcrumbs!
For some reason my family has a phobia about eating the last 4-6 pieces of bread in a loaf. Why? I have no idea. I usually have a couple loaves on the counter at one time. By the time I get around to checking it before a grocery store run, they will have one loaf with the 4-6 pieces left in it and the other loaf half gone.
I don’t make a big deal out of it because I get to make my Homemade Croutons and this really easy homemade breadcrumbs recipe. As a matter of fact the only 3 things needed for this recipe are…
bread, (see the poor lonely hamburger bun on top?)
a food processor
and a freezer bag.
Freeze large batches and just pull out what you need when you need it
See? Easy peasy!
Ingredients
- leftover bread, any kind
Instructions
- Place leftover bread in a food processor.
- Pulse until it resembles crumbs.
- DO NOT over process.
- Use in any recipe that calls for breadcrumbs.
Check out where I linky party!
No bread goes to waste here as I always make homemade breadcrumbs and they are so much cheaper! The other plus is that you can season them any way for whatever dish you’re making. Too bad most people don’t see the advantage of making their own………Keep it up Adrian!!!!
