When I first quit my full-time job to be a stay-at-home mom I would continuously experiment with different homemade cleaners to help my family save money. I needed a good cleaner and degreaser that didn’t smell heavily of toxic chemicals. I’m very sensitive to bleach, ammonia and other chemicals.
When I came across this simple mixture I was hesitant. I’ve had my fair share of experimental failures…I’ve yet to find a good replacement for store bought dishwasher cleaner. But as it contained only two very inexpensive ingredients I decided to go ahead and give it a shot. What could it hurt?
Let me tell you something. I have found THE cleaner! This cleaner is my most favorite. It contains just two ingredients that I mix together in a spray bottle and it is the best cleaner I have EVER used, store bought or homemade. I use it to clean the counters, walls and cabinets in the kitchen, the counters, walls and the outside of the toilets in the bathrooms. It even cleans any small oops on my floors.
Have I told you it’s the best cleaner EVER? AND it contains no heavy smelling chemicals!
So without further ado, here is what you need to make this fabulous cleaner:
Dish soap and vinegar.
Yep, that’s it. Mix it at a 1 to 1 ratio and you’ve got THE cleaner.
- 12oz dish soap
- 12oz vinegar
- spray bottle
- Combine the two in a spray bottle.
- Shake lightly.
