I LOVE my coffee. I don’t care if it’s in the middle of summer and 110° outside, I will still drink my coffee. If I could attach an I. V. coffee drip to my arm I would probably do it. And I don’t mean iced coffee either. Never really got on the iced coffee band wagon. It just seems strange to drink a hot beverage cold. Maybe it’s just me…but it weirds me out. I’m the same way with my sweet tea. Can’t drink it hot. Nope, not for me.
But sometimes I DO like a different coffee flavor and cappuccino does that for me. The cappuccino mixes that you can buy from the grocery store are a little pricey for me and so is the pre-made kind from the little cappuccino machine at the convenience store.
So I did what I always do and decided to try to make my own homemade cappuccino mix. Well, by my standards, I succeeded. This mix is a little sweet, has a mild French vanilla flavor along with the coffee flavor that I so dearly love.
I guess if you really wanted to you could add some cold milk and ice and have you some iced cappuccino but why the heck would you?
Ingredients
- 8oz French vanilla powdered creamer
- ½ cup instant coffee, finely ground
- 1 cup Splenda or finely ground sugar
- 1 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 3.4 oz vanilla instant pudding
- 1/3 cup cocoa
Instructions
- Sift all ingredients into a large bowl.
- Pour into an airtight container.
- Use 3 tablespoons per 8 oz hot milk or water.
Check out where I linky party!
I am so impressed! Recipe is already in my recipe box but unlike you, I love these in the winter when it’s colder! To buy the already made is so d*#? expensive, thanks Adrian!
I love this anytime:) Well, this and my coffee.
Adrian, I’m so glad you stopped by my blog and left a sweet comment, because I probably wouldn’t have discovered this fantastic post otherwise. Like you, I can’t stand cold tea. I’m not a coffee fan myself, but the giant man-baby does and I’m forever buying cappuccino mixes for him.
L.O.V.E that this can be done at home for a fraction of the price of the store mixes. I don’t think we get powdered creamer here, but I’m sure that can be substituted for powdered milk instead. Pinning.
Yep, you could definitely use powdered milk instead of creamer. Hope you and the “giant man-baby” enjoys:)
I love these cappuccino mixes, this could save me some money. Thanks for sharing. Hello from Nifty Thrifty Sunday.
This recipe has saved us lots of money:) Thanks for stopping by. Come see me again soon!
Holy cow, I never thought of this. Coffee is usually too much for me, but I love mocha flavors. If I go to starbucks, I tell them 1/2 shot. This would make it easy to control the amount of coffee flavor for me. Pinning!
That’s one of the things I love about this recipe! You CAN control the amount of coffee flavor. My husband likes it mild whereas I like it a bit stronger:)
Love it! Thanks for sharing. I LOVE iced coffe and hot coffee! Before I moved to WV I had a dunkin donuts on every corner in MA. now there isnt one anywhere close to me. So I have to get creative. Will be trying this for sure!
adding pudding!?!? WOW!! Glad you knew that
So I imagine I could make this decaf!!! (medical reasons for no caffeine) which would be totally awesome!! Thanks for sharing your Homemade Cappuccino mix with us!
You could totally make this decaf. I hope you try it and love it like we do:)
Wonderful recipe, easy and delish! I’m not a vanilla (in coffee) fan, so I’d use another flavor creamer….would be fun to switch out and use different flavors. Thanks so much for sharing this.
This would be so dangerous for me to have around. I would be drinking this three times a day
Thanks for sharing your wonderful recipe. Pinned.
I won’t lie…IT IS DANGEROUS! It’s a VERY addictive drink:)
I would have never thought to add in the pudding. Interesting… Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing at my Twirl & Take a Bow Party. Have a great weekend!

Awesome Tammy! I’m glad you’re enjoying it:) That’s a good idea to use french vanilla instead of regular vanilla. I’ll be giving that a try in my next batch!
