Last week I posted a Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix that was definitely NOT sugar free. Well, I have a reader who wants to make her own hot chocolate mix but can’t have sugar so she asked me if I would mind trying to create her a sugar free version.
I gave it my best shot and thought I would share it with everyone that can’t have or doesn’t want a hot chocolate mix with sugar in it. So Pam, this recipe is dedicated to you:)
My taste testers, who also happen to be my children, gave it two thumbs up:) It’s chocolaty, rich and creamy. What more could you ask?
Give this sugar free hot chocolate mix recipe a try and let me know what YOU think!

Pam
Your very welcome Pam! I hope you enjoy it:) BTW: The kids said “anytime”!
Sounds delish Adrian! Love that you made a sugar free version. I have been thinking lately that I need to lay off the sugar…like that’s gonna happen.
I wonder if you could use Truvia in lieu of Splenda? Think it would measure the same?
Sharing!! (in my sing song voice)
Thanks Bobbi! I looked into Truvia vs Splenda and everything I’ve read said to use LESS Truvia than you would Splenda. I would try making it with maybe a third of the Truvia and then add more if needed. Hope that helps:)
Great idea, I love this for a gift!
Yep, I make it for the kids to give their teachers as a Christmas present:)
Great recipe and gift idea! Thanks for sharing your sugar free hot chocolate mix with us at Snickerdoodle!

Thanks Melissa! I hope he enjoys it as much as my kids did:)
This is so great. There are so many people avoiding sugar for different reasons and it’s so nice they can still have hot chocolate but not all the sugar that is usually in it. How sweet of you to come up with this recipe for one of your readers. Stopping by from Home Matters Linky Party.

I will have to make this for my mother-in-law who is diabetic. Thanks for linking up to the Tasty Tuesdays Linky Party at Creative K Kids. I have pinned this post to the Tasty Tuesdays Linky Party.
This was very, very good! I made it, along with 4 different homemade hot chocolate mixes WITH sugar. I had my family do a blind taste test with the 5 different homemade mixes (including this one)…. and this recipe WON! I didn’t tell them it was the one hot chocolate that was sugar-free until AFTER the voting! Thanks!
That’s awesome, Paula! We really like this recipe. I’m glad your family enjoys it too:)
Do you know how many carbs this would have?
Hey Tanya,
I just recently found a decent plugin that gives nutrition facts. I have updated the recipe with the nutrition facts, which includes carbs and calories. Thanks:)
Thank you so much for doing that!! I appreciate it!! Can’t wait to make it..hope its really chocolatyyyy!!! ha
Thank you, Tanya! I hope you get a chance to make it and enjoy it:)
HI TANYA,
I WAS THE ONE TO REQUEST THE SUGAR FREE VERSION. I ASKED THE
SAME QUESTION, ALONG WITH CALORIE CONTENT. I AM A DIABETIC AND
MUST KEEP ON TRACT. WITHOUT KNOWING, I WAS SCARED TO MAKE IT,
BUT WOULD LOVE TO KNOW. I DO KNOW THERES A WEBSITE THAT WILL GIVE
YOU THE CALORIE CONTENT, BUT I DONT KNOW THAT EITHER.
KEEP TRYING, MY FRIEND!
PAM

ADRIAN,
YOU ARE THE “BEST”. THANK YOU SO MUCH. THIS SOUNDS LIKE A
DIABETICS DREAM. YOU’VE DONE SO MUCH WORK ON ALL THIS.
TIS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Thanks Pam! That means a lot:) Hope you enjoy!
Sounds yummy, I have bought sugar free Swiss Miss, but its not as chocolate as I would like it to be…so the pudding sounded like a neat trick!!
