If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time you know how much I LOVE my slow cooker. It is THE best kitchen appliance I own. Slow cooker recipes are a person’s (my) way of making delicious meals without doing much more than throwing everything in a pot, walking away from said pot and then returning a few hours later to a complete meal. What’s better than that I might ask? NOTHING! Unless of course, it’s dessert your returning to:)
Which is what these slow cooker peanut clusters totally are! This recipe is my simple way of making a big batch of DE-LISH-OUS chocolaty peanutty goodness without a whole lot of fuss.
Another thing my slow cooker does for this recipe is keep the chocolate warm while I drop tablespoonfuls of this yumminess onto some wax paper. If you’ve ever used almond bark to make candy you know that the longer it’s off the stove, the cooler it gets which makes it harder to work with. The slow cooker stays warm even after it’s turned off and helps to prevent the chocolate from becoming to stiff to work with. AWESOMENESS in a pot!
The hardest part of this slow cooker peanut clusters recipe? Waiting for the chocolate to set so you can eat the candy!
WARNING! This recipe makes A LOT of candy. Make sure you have either (1) a few people to share it with or (2) some self control! Good thing I have a whole house full of people to share with:)

Sounds great for Halloween that is right around the corner and a great homemade gift for friends and neighbors during the Christmas holidays! Love the almond bark, it is sooo good!
Hope you’re having a great Labor Day with the family…………
Definitely a great homemade Christmas gift. I bake for my family throughout the holiday so it’s nice just to be able to throw something in the slow cooker while I’m concentrating on other things.
OM Lord, love! I see this being added to my Christmas gifts. Can’t wait to make.
Pinned this! I’ve been wanting to try making peanut clusters this way for so long, and yours look delish! Thanks for the recipe!
Thank you Dee!

Ooohhh is it different enough to share? Would love to try your recipe! Thanks for stopping in!
Just curious….as I would love to try this recipe….does condensation from the lid of the crockpot create a problem? Thanks
Nope, not at all:) Just make sure your slow cooker and your lid is completely dry before you add the ingredients and it works every time.
Oh yum! I found your recipe on Treasure Box Tuesday linkup. I’m glad I did!
Thanks Norma for stopping in:)
Oh My these look delicious. Nothing like tempting a girl when she’s trying to kick the sugar habit. I think I would have to give these a try.

Shari
Thanks Shari! And good luck on kicking the sugar habit:)

I’d never thought of using the slow cooker to keep the melted chocolate warm – what a great idea!
Thanks Lisa!
I sure didn’t need to see this! I’ve never even thought of putting chocolate in my slow cooker. Genius! Thanks for sharing with Creative Spark Link Party.
Glenna @ My Paper Craze
Your welcome Glenna! And thank you for all your lovely comments:)
have you tried adding raisins in with the nuts? Also, would this system work by dipping pretzels in the melted chocolate?
Hey Gerry, my family isn’t big fans of raisins (although I love them) so I’ve never put them in with the peanuts. I have dipped pretzels and chow mein noodles and they both turned out awesome!
with the peanut clusters what do you mean by almond bark and can you buy it in the grocery store.Would love to make these.Thank You
Hey Carol, some people call it candiquik and you can find it in the baking isle around the chocolate chips. Here is a link to Wal-Mart website that shows the pictures of what I use. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Plymouth-Pantry-Almond-Bark-Vanilla-Baking-Bar-24-oz/10313775
Can you use walnuts or pecans? Thanks.
Yes you can! Any nut that I can think of would totally work. Thanks for the question because now I’m gonna make some with walnuts!
These look fantastic. I’m thinking of trying it with cashews
I love cashews! That sounds like a delicious idea:)
looks fantastic.about how many can I get from this recipe. Thanks and love your recipes. Thanks
Hey Debbie, I really hate to say this but I’ve never counted exactly how many you can get from the recipe because it really depends on how big or how small you scoop them. You can make them really big or really small. I will say however that I AVERAGE at least two dozen or more.
How much butter?showing in one of the pictures.
How much butter? showing in the Picture.
Hey Edith…if you’re referring to the picture with the white squares that’s actually not butter it’s the vanilla almond bark.
This sounds like a great inexpensive Christmas gift. Can you tell me how you store it when it is cool? Does it have to be kept cold?
Thanks!
Hey Kristin, no it doesn’t have to be kept cold BUT it is chocolate so it has to stay cool or at least at room temp. If it gets any warmer than that it will do like any other chocolate and start to get soft or melt.
This recipe is also good if you add a bag of peanut butter chips to this mixture for the peanut butter lovers out there and just follow current instructions. Thanks for the recipe.
That’s good to know Jackie. Thanks for sharing!
These look wonderful! Every Christmas I make 8-10 different cookies, plus the same amount of candies to give to friends & shop keepers in our small town. When all is finished, my girl friends come over to help fill all the goodie baskets. We have a ball. I’m looking forward to making these, the easy way!!
That sounds like a lot of fun! I hope these make your holidays easier:)
It amazes me all the things you can do with a slow cooker. I’m adding this to my list of things to try. Thank you for sharing! #MerryMondayLinkUp
Thanks Ibyl! I hope you get a chance to. These little babies are addictive.

Pinning! Thank you so much for this – I have to try it! Glad to have you on Merry Monday Link Party! Julia

Awesome Danielle! I’ll be there to check it out:)
When tried this recipe, the chocolate chips and bark seized up and never melted smoothly. Is there something I might have done wrong?
Hey Amy! I hate to hear that this recipe didn’t turn out for you. When chocolate seizes it indicates that it came in contact with water. Even a very small amount of water will cause it to seize. Was your slow cooker completely dry when you made this recipe?
That actually sounds accurate… Water must have made contact from the lid. Next time I will be sure to dry my crock pot thoroughly. Thanks so much for your speedy response
